Introduced in 1940, the Lahti 40 was Sweden's standard-issue military sidearm until it was replaced by the Glock in the 1980s. This particular example has a set of "Eagle/135" proofs on the rear right side of the barrel extension and frame, as well as ahead of the ejector port and on the underside of the barrel. How these "Eagle/135" stamps, traditionally associated with Mauser firearms, got on a Swedish pistol is unknown. Excluding the Nazi proofs, the markings and features are standard, with "Rplt. S 5394" on the right side of the frame and checkered grips. With a black leather flap holster marked "MADE IN SWEDEN" on the flap, cleaning rod and takedown tool.
