This takedown version of the ever popular Winchester Model 1894 was manufactured in 1899 and has a part octagon barrel equipped with adjustable sporting sights and marked with the two-address and patent information ahead of the rear sight and "32-40" (non-standard hand engraved outline type font) at the reblued breech. The bottom of the frame has the serial number and the upper tang is marked with the model and patent information. It is mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with crescent buttplate and Winchester grip cap.

Fine as rechambered (see above about caliber marking). The balance of rifle retains 75% of the original blue finish with a brown patina formed where the finish has faded or flaked on the frame. The lever, hammer, and buttplate retain half of the brilliant case colors. There are some light scratches and marks primarily confined to the frame. The wood is fine with mostly crisp checkering, some light scrapes, and scattered pressure marks. The action is excellent, and the marking are crisp.
