Civil War Joslyn Model 1862 Breech Loading First Model Carbine

The lock plate is marked "JOSLYN FIRE ARMS Co/STONINGTON/CONN", and the breechblock is marked with the 1861/1862 patent dates. The serial number is marked on the breechblock and upper tang. There are some small inspection markings on several components. It has a pinched blade front sight, three leaf rear sight, and is mounted with a straight wrist walnut stock with brass furniture and a spur style breeckblock.

ConditionGood with a refinished stock. The metal surfaces are bright in appearance with some light pitting and spotting. The heavily sanded refinished stock is fair with smooth oiled surfaces and some slight dings. The markings are clear aside from the stock cartouche. The action is fine.
