Description:

The Mitrailleuse pistols (from "Grapeshot") were manufactured in 1893 to approximately 1895 by Manufacture Française d’Armes et de Cycles de Saint-Étienne before being rebranded as the Le Gaulois (native people of France as in the Gauls). The model continued to be manufactured until approximately 1912. This Gaulois has the manufacturer mark on the rear of the frame at the top, "Cal. 8m/m" at the front, "No./1" on the dust cover, and the Manufacture Française logo along with "GAULOIS" on the barrel. The left side of the action has the three position selector switch, the trigger mechanism has a checkered hard rubber pad with a mottle red and black coloration, and the barrel has a bead/post sight. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, underside of the side plate, and on the inside of the action. It comes with a maker's marked (in gold) factory leather "cigar case" with a compartment for the pistol and another for cartridges.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with some scratches and fading from use and some light oxidation. The grip is very fine with crisp checkering and minor handling marks. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp overall. The case is fine with a crisp gold manufacturer logo and some minor wear.
