Non-Regulation M.C. Lilley 1872 Style Cavalry Officer's Saber with Scabbard

The saber has a regulation pattern acid etched, double fuller, 33 inch blade, marked with the Lilley address on the reverse ricasso. The saber has a gold washed non-regulation brass hilt, with a wire wrapped rayskin grip, gold sword knot, and a floral and scroll adorned helmet pommel. The nickel finished scabbard has a cut-through gilt brass suspension bands and rings.

ConditionVery good. The blade is very fine-excellent with some light spotting and handling marks. The hilt has a loose guard and thins about 50% of the gold plating wear on the brass. Spotting and flaking is present on the scabbard, with strong gilt on the fittings. The scabbard is in good overall condition.
