This Colt New Line Revolver was manufactured in 1874. Standard two-line Hartford address flanked by Maltese crosses on top of the barrel and "COLT NEW 32" etched panel on the left side. The matching serial number is marked on the underside of the barrel and on the left side of the frame under the grip. "32 CAL" is marked on the left side of the frame. All nickel finish with niter blue trigger and hammer, with polished sides. Blade front and frame notch rear sights. Fitted with two-piece smooth pearl grips. Colt manufactured 22,000 of these revolvers from 1873 to 1884. Comes in an original wooden case with a brass inset rectangle on the lid and fitted purple velvet lining. In addition to the fitted compartment for the revolver, there is a compartment with a lid and a 18 round bullet block. Also comes with 18 period "U" head stamped 32 caliber rounds.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 90% plus original nickel finish with some scattered minor flaking, a few light scratches and some edge wear. Most of the bright original niter blue remains on the hammer. There is some minor gouging and dents on the cylinder pin. The grips are also very fine with some aging to a mellow tint and a few tiny chips on the lower edges. The markings and etched panel are clear. The action is fine. The revarnished case is very good with some crazing of the varnish and some minor varnish loss. There are a few minor cracks in the lid and a minor crack that runs side to side on the bottom. The relined lining is very good with some fading, wear and staining.
