Description:

Manufactured in 1883, this revolver has the two-line Hartford/Depot 14 Pall Mall address and etched 38 caliber panel markings on the barrel, "38 CAL" on the left side of the frame, checkered hard rubber "Cop and Thug" motif grips with "COLT" at the top, and the serial number marked on the butt and underside of the grips. The revolver has several British proofs throughout including alternating marks at the back of each cylinder flute. Only 4,000 of these revolvers were produced and few are found with London barrel address and British proofs.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 70% plus of the original blue finish remains on the barrel and just under half remains on the remaining surfaces and a gray patina on the balance. There are some light scratches overall and several small nicks on the butt. The grips are also very fine with only a small chip on the Colt emblem at the top of the left panel and otherwise sharp checkering with only minor handling marks. The markings including the etched panel remain clear.
