Manufactured in 1881. This revolver has a 2 1/2 inch barrel without the ejector rod, half moon front and frame notched rear sights and is fitted with smooth pearl grips. The right grip panel is numbered to the gun in pencil. The top of the barrel is marked with the short two line address and left side has an etched panel marked "COLT. D.A. 38". The left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates and the left rear of the trigger guard bow is marked "38 CAL". Matching serial numbers with the loading gate stamped with the assembly number "590". Finished frosted nickel blue trigger, hammer (polished sides) and screws.
