Manufactured in 1947 during the transition period (late 1945-51). Chambered in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. Hooded ramp front sight and adjustable sporting rear sight on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting, polished bolt numbered to gun, clover leaf receiver tang, sling swivels, and transition safety. The checkered pistol grip stock has a checkered steel buttplate.
Excellent. The rifle retains 95% original blue finish showing a smooth brown patina on the buttplate and the bolt handling thinning to a gray. The stock is also excellent with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
