Manufactured in 1915, this pistol is marked "PATENTED/APRIL. 20, 1897. SEPT. 9, 1902" followed by "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO/HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." and the Rampant Colt behind the serrations on the left side of the slide. The two line caliber marking is stamped ahead of the ejection port on the right side of the slide. The trigger guard is marked with the Colt factory triangle "VP" proof and the number "1" on the left side. It features fixed sights, blue finish with niter blue small parts and a casehardened spur hammer, and checkered grips featuring "COLT" inside an upward banner at the top and a circled Rampant Colt at the center. The underside of the right panel has some old hand markings from a prior owner. The blued magazine is marked "CAL. 38/COLT" on the base.

Very fine. The pistol retains 80% plus of the original blue finish along with more than half of the original niter blue finish and case colors. There is some light speckling around the edges, especially on and near the back strap, and some patches of bright wear particularly near the muzzle. The grips are fine with nice, crisp checkering and some slight scrapes. The right grip panel has an aged coloration while the left panel remains dark. Mechanically excellent with crisp markings.
