Manufactured in 1958. This is an excellent example of a Model 62A Gallery Rifle chambered for .22 Short only, with a triangular feed cut in the magazine tube. It has dovetailed blade front and adjustable rear sights. The left side of the receiver is factory engraved "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK". The left side of the barrel has the Winchester legend consisting of the two-line address followed by "-WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK-" and "-MODEL 62A-/22 SHORT-". The letter "A" behind the Model number occurred around serial number 98,000 and was due to a change in the breech bolt mechanism resulting in a name change from Model 62 to Model 62A. The matching serial number is marked on the lower tang and bottom front of the receiver. Mounted with a 17 grooved walnut forearm and smooth straight grip stock with a plastic checkered Winchester buttplate. Comes with the original box numbered to the gun with the cardboard partitions and hanging tag.

Excellent plus in box. The rifle retains 99% original blue finish with some minor cycling wear on the slide arm, barrel and magazine tube. The wood is also excellent with a few light handling/storage marks. The markings are sharp. The box is fine with some tape residue on the exterior and a couple moderate tears on the box.
