Desirable Colt Camp Perry Single Shot Target Pistol with Factory Letter

Due to the very limited production, the Camp Perry Pistol is one of the least encountered of all Colt cartridge firearms with a total production of only about 2,425. Manufactured in 1931, this model was created by modifying an Officer's Model frame to accept a special flat single shot "cylinder". Colt named this model after the site of the U.S. Target Competition held annually at Camp Perry, Ohio. It has the standard "CAMP PERRY MODEL" marking on the left side of the "cylinder", two-line address/patent dates on top of the barrel, and the caliber on the left side. The matching serial number is on the crane, left side of the frame under the grip panel and stamped on the inside of each grip panel. It is fitted with an elevation adjustable front blade sight and windage adjustable rear sight, a flat top frame, and checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. The factory letter confirms the .22 LR chambering, "Blue" finish, "Wood" grips, and that it was sotl to Bauers Sport Shop and shipped to the Honeyman Hardware Company in Portland, Oregon, on March 12, 1931, as a single gun shipment. The letter lists the barrel length as 10 inches (the measurement from the muzzle to the back of the "cylinder").

ConditionExcellent overall with 97% plus bright original blue finish displaying some small scattered areas of edge wear as well as scattered minor surface scratches. The grips are excellent with well defined checkering and some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
