Model 1892 Winchester lever action rifle with sliver-plated buttplate, receiver, lever, forearm cap, barrel band and magazine cap. The octagon barrel, full-length magazine, bolt, loading gate, hammer and trigger are blued. The forearm and pistol grip stock are deluxe, highly figured, fancy grain walnut with fine checkered panels. The pistol grip has an engraved butt cap. The rifle is custom engraved with highly detailed relief scroll work and game scenes on the magazine cap, forearm, receiver, lever and buttplate. The engraving consists of fine scroll-work on a lined background with wavy line borders. The right side of the receiver features a highly detailed game scene with two standing grizzly bears on either side of the loading gate. The left side of the receiver is engraved with a woodland scene featuring a bull moose by a mountain lake. A snarling mountain lion is engraved on the underside of the receiver. All of the screw heads are engraved. The engraving is expertly executed and equal to the best 19th century Winchester factory work. The barrel has a blued sporting style front sight and buckhorn sporting style rear sight. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped: "-MODEL 92-WINCHESTER-44 W.C.F.-/-TRADE MARK-" in two lines below the rear sight. The right side of the barrel is roll-stamped with the legend: "MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./-NEW HAVEN. CONN.-PATENTS PENDING-.below the rear sight. The Winchester oval "W/P" proof mark is stamped on the top barrel flat and top of the receiver. The serial number "9563" is stamped across the underside of the receiver surrounded by an engraved oval border. The upper receiver tang is roll-stamped: "WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-/_MADE IN U.S.A.-" in three lines.
