"Arab on Horseback" by Antoine-Louis Barye (French, 1796-1895): This highly detailed bronze depicts an Arab man atop his horse, looking to his right. The expression of the horse gives the impression of it being reigned in abruptly. Great detail is put into both the horse and rider, to give a sense of flow and movement in the tassels and many folds of the riders traditional desert costume. The statue measures approximately 29"H x 20 1/4"L x 12 1/4"W at the base. Resting on a beveled, oval green marble base. Weight is approximately 127 lbs.
