A magnificent lot for the diehard John Wayne collector, this leather holster and gun belt rig were produced by John Bianchi of Bianchi Leather fame. Bianchi was commissioned to make a new holster and gun belt as a replacement for John Wayne's aging rig. This is a proof, submitted for approval by John Wayne himself, for reproduction. This iconic design is synonymous with The Duke, and is seen in some of his most famous roles. This was formerly on exhibit at the Frontier Historical Center. The belt has a paper and twine tag marked "J.W. PROTOTYPE/SAMPLE/.45 42" 44"", and its museum inventory tag. Case has a glass top, with inside identification plaque. Also included is a framed oil painting of John Wayne, signed "H. ABRAHAM". Also included are pictures of the original museum display.

Excellent overall. The belt and holster have been preserved in a near new manner. Painting is excellent.
