This is a mint condition unaltered example of a very rare Iranian Model 1309 long rifle (98/29 version) made at the Teheran Factory in Iran. Originally thought to have been manufactured by the BRNO factory in Czechoslovakia, it was only recently discovered these were actually manufactured in Iran. The top of the receiver ring has the large Persian Crest and both sides of the receiver are marked in Farsi for the serial number and Tehran factory proof marks. The receiver side wall also has the Farsi markings indicating manufactured at the Tehran factory. It has the military style tangent rear sight with the fixed blade front with the large guards on the sides. The stock and handguard are the correct prewar style. It has the correct milled barrel bands, trigger guard, and floor plate with the flat buttplate and all markings and serial numbers are in Farsi. The metal parts all have the nice blued finish with the bolt assembly and buttplate still in the "white". It is complete with the original cleaning rod, long unmarked Persian bayonet, and metal scabbard.

As new with 99% of the original factory blued and in the white finish. The stock and handguard are both like new with only minor handling marks in a few places. The bayonet and scabbard are also like new with 99% of the blued finish on the scabbard and the bayonet still in the white. Exceptional rifle for the discriminating Mauser rifle collector.
