A) Colt New Line 41 Caliber Revolver with British Proofs

Description:

Manufactured in 1876 with two line Hartford address on the top of the barrel, "COLT NEW 41" in an acid etched panel on the left side, the serial number on the bottom, several small British proofs throughout, and the left side of the frame marked "41 CAL C". It has a round blade front and frame groove rear sights along with rosewood grips. The left side of the grip strap and cylinder also have the matching serial number while the matching assembly number is marked on the loading gate and right side of the grip strap.

Rating Definition:

Fair. Traces of the original finish remain with primarily a mottled gray patina and some areas light oxidation and slight pitting. The grips are good with some abrasions, dings, and a chip out of the right panel. Mechanically fine with mostly crisp markings. The etched panel is partially faded.

Description:

Manufactured in 1875 with the two line Hartford address on top of the barrel, serial number on the underside, and the etched "COLT NEW 38" marking on the left side. The frame is stamped "38 CAL C" on the left side below the cylinder. The matching serial number is also found on the frame and cylinder (partial). It is fitted with smooth grips and round German silver blade front and frame groove sights.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The revolver has traces of the original finish with primarily a mottled gray patina with some light pitting and oxidation. The grips are fine with a variety of age cracks and varied tones. Mechanically needs work as cylinder is froze in place. Clear markings aside from the faint, but legible, etched caliber marking.
