A copy of a Mauser style semi-automatic pistol. Marked with assorted stampings of "BELGIQUE", "FABRIQUE" and "HERSTAL" on the left side of the slide. Appears to be dated 1942 on the right side of the slide and frame with a skewed off center "MAUSER" banner stamped on the slide and spurious "Belgian" proofmarks. Blade front and no rear sight, safety lever act as a hold open only trigger is still functional with safety in safe position.

Very good overall with traces of original blue finish remaining and the balance having aged to a mostly smooth brown/gray patina. Displaying areas of light spotting and pitting, as well as edge wear and small dings throughout.

A Chinese copy of a European semi-automatic pistol with features similar to those found on a Mauser model 1934. The frame and slide are marked with various Belgian style proofmarks and the words "BROWNINGS", as well as an incorrect Fabrique Nationale slide legend. This is common on Chinese copies of European pistols of the early 20th century, it was thought that more discerning Chinese buyers would prefer a Belgian or German pistol, and these were meant to simulate the correct markings. With a fixed pinched blade front and no provision for a rear sight and fitted with smooth horn grips. Pictured and identified on page 224, plate 1901, of J. Howard Matthews "Firearms Identification: Vol III".

Fair overall, with a primarily gray/brown patina, some light spotting, and minor dings. Grips are fair with hand carved borders and a small crack on the right panel at the bottom screw. Mechanically good.
