This derringer is consecutively numbered to the nickel plated variant also on this page. The Type III or Model No. 4 variation of the Remington Over/Under derringer was manufactured from 1912 until 1935 with a production run total of approximately 55,000. It has "REMINGTON ARMS - - U.M.C. CO. ILION, N.Y." marked on the top of the rib, and the matching serial number on the underside of the barrel group and on the left side of the grip strap. It has standard blade and notch sights and checkered hard rubber grips. There are British proof marks on the left side of the barrels.
