Description:

The First Model Ladysmith revolvers were produced from 1902 to 1906 with a total of 4,575 manufactured. They were the first .22 caliber revolvers produced by Smith & Wesson after the Model No. 1 Third Issue was discontinued and were designed by Daniel B. Wesson himself as self defense weapons for women. This example has the standard markings and features and comes with a grey suede "purse" holster contoured to the gun. The accompanying factory letter verifies the 3 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, hard rubber grips and that it was shipped to Powell & Clement Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 12, 1904. The serial number on butt has a "star" suffix which denotes factory return/refurbishment.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as factory refinished. 90% plus of the blue finish remains with some minor oxidation, a bright cylinder drag line, and light handling and storage wear. The grips are also very fine and have a lightly aged tone. The action is fine, and the markings are crisp. The holster is very good with moderate staining, a couple small tears, and oxidation.
