Manufactured in 1935. Two-line address/patent dates on top of the barrel, left barrel side is marked "NEW SERVICE 38 SPECIAL" and Rampant Colt on the left side plate. Matching serial numbers on frame and crane. Checkered hammer, trigger, cylinder release and ejector rod. The back strap is marked "N.Y. Dept. Tax & Fin.". Fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. Complete with Colt factory box numbered to another gun. The box does have the Department of Taxation and Finance end label numbered to the gun and that is was received September 12, 1956 from Troop D (New York State Police). Consecutive serial number with lot in this auction.

Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish with slight muzzle wear, slight edge wear on the face of the cylinder and a faint cylinder drag line. The markings are clear. The grips are excellent with scattered scratches and dings overall. The checkering is crisp. The box is fine with some discoloration, corner and edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
