Description:

This is an excellent example of a DWM Model 1906 Commercial "Navy" Luger. These Commercial Navy Lugers are very scarce as very few were manufactured. The top of the chamber area is blank, and the front toggle marked with the standard DWM logo. It still retains its original 6 inch Navy length barrel and the original two position Navy type rear sight, grip safety, and stock lug. The left side of the barrel extension has the correct faintly marked early "Crown/B" and "Crown/U" commercial proofs that are repeated on the underside of the barrel with a single "Crown/B" firing proof on the left side of the breechblock. It is correctly numbered in the commercial manner with the full serial number (36458) numbered on the front of the frame and underside of barrel and the last two digits (58) on the takedown latch, side plate, front and rear toggle, trigger and grip safety. It is fitted with a set of walnut grips with the left side numbered "58" and the right side unnumbered. It is complete with one original early Navy magazine that has the tin plated magazine body with an unnumbered/unmarked wooden base with the swirls on the sides of the base. .

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of the original blue overall with just a hint of edge and high spot wear. The various smaller parts also retain 98% of the original vivid golden straw colors overall. The grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct, sharp checkering overall, except for a handling marks on the upper portion of the right grip which has broken off several of the checkered diamonds. This is an exceptional, very nice looking and scarce early DWM Model 1906 Commercial Navy luger.
