Description:

This is an example of the Model 1934/06 commercial contract Mauser Banner Luger pistol chambered in 7.65 Luger Auto cartridge and made for sales in Germany and or Europe. They were produced circa 1934-1938 and have a blank chamber area with the desirable grip safety like the early model 1906 Lugers with the standard Mauser Banner trademark on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension, the underside of the barrel and the left side of the breech block are all stamped with a single "Crown/U" commercial proof acceptance mark. The pistol is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number on the major components such as the front of the frame, underside of the barrel and the left side of the barrel extension and the last two digits "36" stamped on various small parts. Blue finish with straw colored small parts and fitted with checkered walnut grips. It is complete with an unmarked all blued sheet metal magazine with an unmarked aluminum base. This beautiful example is listed as the lowest serial numbered commercial Mauser model 1934/06 Luger and is described/pictured in the book "Lugers at Random" by Kenyon on pages 258-259.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% of the blued finish overall with only some minor edge and high spot wear. The various smaller parts have 98% of their straw colors with only minor edge wear. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice, distinct checkering on both sides and only a couple of minor handling marks on the left grip. Mechanically excellent.
