Manufactured in the Eibar region of Spain, the Vesta draws heavily from John Browning's automatic pistol designs, particularly the 1908 Vest Pocket. While most Eibar pistols were produced with an eye for economy, and have a reputation for being a "working man's" sidearm, this Vesta has been embellished to a level that would compete with Hartford's own factory work showing nearly full coverage of fine gold over the traditional blue, along with a casehardened trigger and mother of pearl grips. The gold work is also engraved with punch dot and zig-zag accents along the borders, fine foliate scrollwork and geometric designs. Concealed among the scrolls are a number of floral designs, finely rendered birds in flight, a number of grotesque fire-breathing animal heads and "VESTA" in gold on the right side of the chamber. Serial number "1" is stamped internally on the bottom of slide which is visible at full retraction. The case is covered in a brown leatherette, with a white silk lid lining marked "VESTA" and a white velvet French cut interior with spaces for the pistol and a magazine. Included with the case are two nickel-plated display cartridges (bullet and casing, no powder or primer).
