These strange revolvers were manufactured in France in the early 20th century by Manufacture Francaise d'Armes et Cycles de St. Etienne primarily for the colonial trade. Its name translates to "Explorer Grapeshot". It has a twelve shot cylinder that chambers 6 mm cartridges. When the hammer is cocked, two of the chambers at a time line up with the pair of barrels. The hammer strikes a dual set of firing pins in the recoil shield. This is an interesting attempt to back up the relatively anemic 6 mm rounds with the ability to fire twelve shots in quick succession. The pistol has a top break design similar to early Smith & Wesson revolvers and is fitted with a round blade front sight, notch rear sight, hard rubber grips, and a lanyard loop.

Very good as period refinished. The revolver retains 75% plus of the blue finish with thinning in some areas. The grips are fine with some minor handling marks. The action is fine. Most of the markings have been removed during refinishing.
