Early Nazi Era Blank Chamber Mauser Police Rework Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is an example of a 1933 Police rework Luger that was manufactured by the Mauser factory in the early days of the Nazi rearmament. It has the correct blank chamber and an unmarked front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with the early Mauser factory WaA66 Waffenampt proof along with the early Mauser firing proof which is also stamped on the right rear side of the barrel. There is also a faint mauser firing proof on the left side of the breechblock. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" marked safety/extractor area. It is still fitted with the Police sear safety spring over the side plate and the partial magazine safety spring as required on early Police lugers. The front end of the magazine safety spring has been correctly clipped as required in 1934/35. The front strap is marked "L. D. 66.", (Landjagerei/Dusseldorf). Although an early issue Police Luger, it is numbered somewhat like a commercial Luger with the frame and barrel having the full serial number and only a few of the smaller parts (side plate, trigger, and takedown lever) also numbered and the balance all unmarked. It has the standard rust blued finish and straw colored small parts. It is complete with one unmarked, tin plated magazine with a unmarked wooden base.

ConditionVery fine as partially refinished (cold blue on lower front grip strap) with 95% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish on the balance with edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the side plate, frame rails, and muzzle area. The lower front grip strap shows blue loss where an earlier unit marking may have been removed. The various smaller parts retain 10% of their straw colors overall. The grips are in very good condition with distinct visible checkering showing light wear across the tops of the checkering with minor handling marks and light pressure dents in some areas. The lower right grip shows some heavier pressure dents/damage that corresponds to where the lower grip strap has the markings removed.
