U.S. Colt 1914 Production Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Extra Magazine, Holster, and Magazine Pouch Marked to an Officer of the 67th Infantry Brigade

Fixed sights, with the two-line, two-block Colt patents and address on the left side of the slide, the Rampant Colt behind the serrations and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" on the right. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "WGP" (Penfield). Fitted with a long smooth trigger, checkered wide hammer, flat top rear sight, short grip safety, checkered slide catch and thumb safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple, checkered double diamond walnut grips, unmarked two-tone pinned base magazine with lanyard staple, and a "P H" marked blue barrel. With an extra unmarked magazine, a June 1917 dated Mills canvas magazine pouch stamped "MAJ. C.B. ROBBINS/HDQ 67 BRIG." on the rear, and a brown leather flap holster marked "G & (illeg)/191(illeg)/A.G." on the back. The 67th Infantry Brigade was formed in 1917 from Iowa and Nebraska guard units as part of the 34th Infantry Division, aka The Red Bulls, and is active today as the 67th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade. Records show Robbins as the 67th's adjutant as well as running the officer's school at Camp Cody where the 34th trained in preparation for deployment to France.

ConditionFine with 50% plus of the original blue finish showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the grip straps and top of the slide, bright edge wear, scattered spotting, takedown lines below the slide stop, and scattered handling marks. The moderately worn grips are good with some mild dings and a smooth spot in the area of the right thumb. The holster and pouch are fair with some minor tears in the leather and light scuffs and stains overall. Mechanically very good.
