Manufactured in 1985 and has an overall high polished blue finish, smooth grips with gold Colt medallions, blade and groove sights and matching serial numbers. Only approximately 582 Model P-1940 revolvers were manufactured between 1976 and 1986 based on the survey data on page 101 of Wilkerson's "The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver, 1976-1986." His full blue production does not list any .44-40 full blue revolvers in the 1977-1983 production period. Included with the revolver is the matching numbered maroon factory box which contains an original manual and other documents including a receipt listing this and two other SAA revolvers from Archie's Garage, Inc. in Dugspur, Virginia, dated 9-1-89.
