Manufactured in 1897, this revolver features a 2 inch barrel with a solid rib/ramped sight, semi-bobbed hammer and a Fitzgerald style trigger guard. The revolver is ejectorless, however the frame has the ejector base. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT 45" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "68". Blue finish with casehardened frame, (blue top strap) and hammer, and fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top.

Very good as professionally modified and refinished. The top strap retains all of the blue finish and the cylinder retains 95% blue finish with edge wear, a drag line and light oxidation. The frame shows traces of case colors, strongest in protected areas, with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. Most of the bright case colors remain on the hammer. The grip straps have a smooth dark patina. The grips are also very good having faded to brown, and showing some minor handling marks and distinct checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine. A very unique addition to any Colt Single Action Army collection.
