Manufactured in 1958, the first full production year for the 2nd Generation Buntline. Named for a dime novelist who reportedly gave a similar revolver to Wyatt Earp. This revolver has a casehardened frame and blue remaining parts. The sides of the hammer are polished while the top and underside are blue. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address. The left side is marked " COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45", and the underside is numbered "B B 731". The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The "VP" triangle proof is on the left front of the trigger guard. The grips are smooth walnut. Complete with a hinged lid black box numbered to the gun with a gold end label and papers.
