This excellent, near new Second Generation version of the classic Colt Single Action Army revolver was manufactured in 1961 and is fitted with pearlite grips with golden Colt medallions. The grips have the "COLT NEW FRONTIER" marking on the undersides but also appear to have the matching last digits of the serial number. The New Frontier model was introduced in 1961. The revolver has the standard markings and features including the matching serial and assembly numbers. It comes with an original factory black box numbered to the gun with original papers and a bore brush. The box is also hand marked "PEARL" below the serial number and "PEARLITE" on the lid above the end label. 16,387 revolvers were shipped in this caliber, barrel length, and finish between 1955 and 1975 based on the data in "The Colt Post-War Single-Action Revolver, 1955-1975" by Wilkerson. The included factory letter confirms the configuration including the pearlite grips and notes that it was shipped to Robert Abels in New York City on June 18, 1962.
