According to the factory letter, this pair of revolvers was shipped to Roberts Sporting Goods Company in Birmingham, Alabama, on September 27, 1957. In the "Special Features" section the letter notes "Consecutive serial numbers". Based on the data discussed on page 38 of "The Post-War Colt Single-Action Army Revolver, 1955-1975" by Wilkerson, only 242 total Second Generation revolvers were manufactured with nickel plating, 5 1/2 inch barrels, and chambered for .38 Special, and only 1 in 141 revolvers is a nickel plated .38 Special. On page 87, Wilkerson lists only 12 consecutive sets in this configuration. Both revolvers have the standard markings and features of the early Second Generation revolvers. The revolvers come in a bound hard case with fitted velvet lined interior and a Rampant Colt design on the lid.
