Description:

Manufactured in the dying days of the Third Reich, the MP3008 was part of the "Volks" series of weapons, a selection of small arms developed for maximum speed and cost efficiency in manufacture. Aside from the magazine well being positioned vertically like the MP38 and MP40, the MP3008 is effectively a down and dirty clone of the British STEN gun, right down to the push button selector switch on the frame. This was a very sensible choice, as the STEN gun was the gold standard for a down and dirty, fighting man's sub-machine gun, devoid of bells and whistles and designed with an eye for speed. Fixed triangle front sight, a peep rear sight, sling mounts on the magazine well and stock, squared trigger guard and a folded steel buttstock. Aside from the selector markings, "rne 45" on the rear of the frame, and some faint removed markings on the left forward side of the tube, this area is unmarked, devoid of the traditional Nazi proofs. The magazine is marked for the MP38 and 40, with "kur 42" marked on the rear.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished with a mixed gray phosphate color overall, showing some areas of brown patina and mild handling marks. The receiver and barrel show evidence of having been re-activated after being plugged and welded. The forward mark on the left side of the receiver has been removed and refinished over. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This item is registered with the BATFE as a machine gun, and it is the sole responsibility of the bidder to understand and comply with all relevant rules, restrictions and regulations.
