Gauge: 45 ACP
Barrel: 8 inch round
Finish: blue

Class: Class III
Description:

A spiritual descendant of the World War I Bergmann MP18 SMG, the MP34 was developed and prototyped by Solothurn in Switzerland and manufactured by Steyr in Austria; restricted from SMG development by the terms of the Versailles Treaty, Rheinmetall of Germany bought stakes in both companies to get around the rules. In addition to SMGs in 9mm for Austrian police and military units, a 45 ACP model was manufactured for Portugal and South American buyers. A fine piece of craftsmanship, the MP34 is a fine exemplar of the final generation of hand-fitted, precisely machined sub-machine guns, which would give way to the mass-manufactured, machine stamped, utilitarian line of the Sten, MP40 and their descendants. Blade front and 500 yard tangent rear sights, with a bayonet lug mounted on the ventilated heat shield and an "E" and "D" marked selector switch on the left side of the stock. No makers marks or national proofs are present, though a matching serial number is present on the receiver, bolt and stock, and the import mark "LAW ENF ORD CO ATHENS GA" is present on the left side of the receiver. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a grasping groove on the right side, brown leather sling and a steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good mostly showing areas of brown patina, scattered pitting and handling marks. The stock is fair, with a crack along the top of the wrist, some edge chipping and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This item is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and a Machine Gun for use as a "Sales Sample" only; it is not a "fully transferrable" item, and is intended for sale to licensed dealers, law enforcement and government agencies, and similar groups. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to understand and comply with all relevant laws at the federal, state/commonwealth and local levels.
