Description:

Manufactured in August 1938, with a "13.8" Showa date next to the arsenal marking and serial number on the right side of the frame. Fixed sights, with straw finished small parts, serrated cocking knob and checkered grips. Two chrome-plated magazines are included, each numbered "960" on the spine and one showing the customary punch dot found on Imperial Japanese spare magazines. With a pigskin flap holster and a brown leather shoulder strap. The former is hand-marked "Cpl. Plain" in white paint on the inside of the flap. No information about Corporal Plain was included, but such markings were often added by marines and soldiers who "liberated" enemy hardware in order to discourage additional "liberation" by their squadmates.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of the original blue finish showing a few small patches of spotting, a light safety scratch, bright edge wear and light handling marks. The grips are also excellent with a few dings, and the holster and strap show minor scuffs and verdigris buildup. Mechanically excellent.
