Description:

Manufactured in China, factual data about the "Sugiura Type" pistol is hard to come by, but it is suggested that they were produced in late WWII by the Japanese in mainland China, likely the Manchurian occupation zone, and continued to be produced after the Japanese were driven out. A total number that were manufactured is unknown, and very few have made their way to the American market. This pistol is equipped with fixed sights, a serrated oval safety/slide catch, and matching serial numbers on the slide, frame and magazine. A set of "5-pointed star" markings are stamped on the left side of the slide and frame along with a hand-scratched "R.D./12-21-64". With a brown leather Japanese-style flap holster.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% of the original blue finish overall showing some light edge wear and handling marks overall. A series of dings are visible along many of the edges and curves, which are believed to be guide marks left over from the machining process. Grips are very fine with a few light scuffs, and the holster is fine but a bit undersized for the pistol. Mechanically excellent.
