This attractive Huntsman was produced by the Colt Custom Shop in 1972. It has type "A" Nimschke style American scroll and punch dot engraving on the barrel, frame, and slide and a polished nickel plated finish. The top of the slide, breech, and front and back straps have a matte finish. The blonde checkered grips are numbered to the gun. Included with the pistol is the original maroon factory box with matching neon yellow custom shop end label. The Colt Huntsman is part of the Woodsman series of target pistols designed by John Moses Browning. These handguns have been the favorites of thousands of American outdoorsmen young and old for generations and remain popular today even though Colt ceased producing the line in 1977. Ernest Hemingway was among the many famous users of these pistols. He reported that he "hit six dueling silhouettes in the head with it at regulation distance in five seconds."

Near new. The pistol has only minor handling and storage marks. The box is very good with some general shipping and storage wear, bent corners, slight tears, and a break in the styrofoam interior. This Huntsman would make a great addition to a Colt Woodsman collection.
