Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1926 and has the correct polished Colt commercial pre-war blue finish. The grips are finely checkered and have silver Colt medallions. The revolver has the distinctive flattop target frame with windage adjustable target rear sight. The target front sight is adjustable for elevation. The grip straps, trigger, and hammer spur have sharp checkering. The revolver has the frame with improved contour and knurled ejector rod head that are characteristic of Improved Model New Service revolvers. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line Hartford address and the "1884", "1900", and "1905" patent dates. The left side of the barrel is marked "NEW SERVICE RUSSIAN AND/S&W SPECIAL 44". The Rampant Colt trademark is located on the left side of the frame behind the cylinder latch. The left side of the frame has the Colt "VP" triangle proof and "3" assembly number located above the trigger guard bows. The matching serial number is on the frame and crane. The underside of the grips is numbered to another gun.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with some thinning and brighter wear on the barrel. The cylinder has some bright edge wear and rotation marks. The grips are very good with crisp checkering and some minor dings. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp.
