Established in 1877 as an independent operator after leaving Purdey, the firm of Henry Atkin remains active to this day as part of the Atkin, Grant & Lang firm. Single bead sight on a flat smooth tapering rib marked "HENRY ATKIN (FROM PURDEY) 18 OXENDON STREET HAYMARKET LONDON W", with engraving on the dolls head extension and around the breech, and London proofs on the underside and water table. The frame and locks are scroll engraved. "HENRY ATKIN" and a cocking indicator are on each lock plate. It has an automatic tang safety with golden "SAFE" marking, dual triggers, checkered straight wrist stock with an unmarked inscription disc on the underside, and a checkered buttplate. Measurements: weight - 6 pounds 8.2 ounces, chokes - improved modified and cylinder, chambers - 3 inches, drop at comb - 1 5/8 inches, drop at heel - 2 3/8 inches, length of pull - 14 inches.
