This revolver was manufactured in 1929. The "38 BANKERS/SPECIAL" marking on the left side of the barrel, a band at the muzzle, and the Rampant Colt on the left rear of the frame have all been highlighted with gold fill. A small oval "HOL" marking is on the left side of the trigger guard on the front shoulder. The "HOL" proof has been thought to be the inspector marking of Major Herbert O'Leary. The top of the barrel, sides of the frame, and cylinder between the flutes display attractive scroll engraving patterns with punch dot backgrounds. The smooth, creamy grips have golden Colt medallions. The crane and frame have the matching serial number. The trigger guard is signed "L WRIGHT" along the edge of the scroll engraving.
