These pistols were manufactured between 1955 and 1962 and had a very futuristic, space age design that utilized a cast aluminum frame in lieu of the standard steel frames of the day. It was a straight blow-back design, that used a round bolt inside the upper part of the frame with exposed cocking knobs on the rear of the frame with an exposed hammer. It was fitted with fixed front and rear sights. The left side of the frame is marked "WHITNEY" and the right side is marked with the address markings. Includes an original Whitney box and the book "The Whitney Wolverine" by Antonio J. Taglienti.

Excellent overall with 98% plus original anodized finish. With scattered light handling marks and surface scratches as well as some small areas of edge wear near the front of the frame and barrel nut. Grips are excellent with light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is good. Book is excellent.
