Description:

The Remington Model 4 rifles were manufactured from 1890 until 1933. Approximately 356,000 were produced in a few variations in .22, .25, and .32 caliber. This example was manufactured after 1900 and is one of the more desirable takedown variants. The barrel can be removed by simply rotating the small lever on the right side of the frame at the breech. It has a beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable sporting rear sight. The upper tang is tapped for peep sight mounting. It is fitted with a smooth forend and straight grip stock with a plain iron buttplate. The barrel is marked with Remington-U.M.C. markings on top and has the caliber designations on the upper left flat.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with some light edge wear and minor handling and storage marks. The action retains over 75% of the somewhat muted case colors and has some light spotting. The buttplate has thin blue finish and some gray patina. The wood is very good with some slight chips and minor marks. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp. This rifle is among the finer Model 4s available, given that most have been heavily used.
