Manufactured between 1878 and 1912. This revolver features a pinned rectangular beaded blade front and adjustable rear notch target sights. The barrel rib is marked with the one-line Springfield address with the classic "S&W" logo on the right side of the frame. The finish is a deep polished blue with a checkered casehardened trigger, wide casehardened hammer and round trigger guard. The serial number "1" is found on the butt, cylinder and under the barrel latch. The grip frame is marked "10-44" and with a "B" inside a diamond indicating the piece was factory restored in October of 1944. Fitted with checkered walnut grips. The butt is notched for use with a detachable shoulder stock with no provision on the backstrap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as factory refinished with 99% of the blue remaining, showing areas of light edge wear and some light pitting that has been cleaned and blued over. The grips are very good with well defined checkering and general handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
