The lock plate has engraved warriors at the rear and ahead of the hammer. The lock plate is also signed "COSTERA UTRECHT" below one of the warriors. The hammer features a light floral scroll engraving. The top of the barrel is flat and is signed "COSTERA UTRECHT". A wide band is engraved at the barrel breech followed by a nearly 3 inch long wedge of chiseled scrollwork. A light engraving flanks the blade front sight. The barrel tang is lightly engraved. Chiseled work is also featured on the trigger guard. The buttcap has a floral engraving and a high relief chiseled grotesque mask. The cut-out side plate has a floral design. The trigger guard tang is script marked "No. 4". The full length stock has a high relief floral carving around the barrel tang and ramrod channel and a horn forend cap. The ramrod has a horn tip.
