This rifle has standard blade and folding ladder sights, various London proofmarks, ".II/*/*/broad arrow" on the top of the breech collar, "crown/V.R." on the tail of the lock, "1856/ENFIELD" on the lock at the center, and a smooth stock with "W.R." stamped at the rear of the left flat. The Snider conversion was adopted 1866 and manufactured until 1871 using Pattern 56 Enfield rifles. Some remained in use by the British military even into the early 20th century.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refinished. 97% plus blue finish and 95% vivid case colors remain. There is pitting showing through primarily on the breech section and several small dings and scratches throughout. The stock is very fine and has minimal marks and a sliver absent at the buttplate tang. The action functions excellently, and most of the markings are distinct.
