This musket follows the India pattern and is equipped with a bayonet stud a couple of inches back from the muzzle. The barrel also has two Birmingham proofmarks near the breech that flank a "W.H" stamp. The standard Georgian crown over "GR" marking but no maker's marks, and the stock has "crown/M" mark on the left flat. Sling swivels are fitted above the front ramrod pipe and on the front of the trigger guard. Consignor notes: From Williamsburg; note the Williamsburg brass inventory tag on the buttplate screw. Those were displayed in the rack of muskets in the powder magazine and Governor's Palace. Williamsburg sold a lot of India Pattern and post-Revolutionary War muskets about 15 years ago.
