1) Cased tintype of a pair of hunters with double barrel hammer shotguns and a hunting dog, in a floral and ribbon decorated gutta percha case, 3 1/4 by 3 3/4 inches. 2) Cased tintype of a hunter with a percussion shotgun, his accoutrements hung about his chest, and his dog by his feet, in a floral scroll decorated gutta percha case, 3 1/4 by 3 3/4 inches. 3) Cased tintype of two hunters and their dog, one with a percussion shotgun and the other with a hammer breech loader, in a pressed leather case, 3 1/8 by 3 5/8 inches. 4) Cased tintype of a hunter with a percussion shotgun and a dog, either taken as a candid shot out on a town street or with a very convincing studio backdrop, in a scroll decorated gutta percha case, 2 5/8 x 3 7/8 inches. Consignor states these are from the Jay Huber collection.

Rating Definition:

1) The portrait is very good, with a bend in the middle. Details are sharp overall, though the dog seems to have moved during the shot. The case is fair, with the pillow detached from the lid and some play in the hinges. 2) Good, with some scuffing and spotting on the portrait. The case is good, with light wear. 3) the portrait is good, with some rubs and wear. The case is rough, with a broken hinge, scuffs and dents. 4) The portrait is good, though a bit undersized for the case. The case shows a number of cracks and faded areas.
