Description:

Operated out of Liebenberg Castle in Brandenberg and named for the family that resided in the castle, the Eulenberg hunts were a cornerstone of the political season through the late 1800s. Taking up weeks of time during Kaiser Wilhelm II's winter travels, the attendees of the hunts included some of the most important men in Imperial Germany, as well as the Emperor's closest advisors and friends. Kaiser Wilhelm II was the last German Emperor and King of Prussia, ruling both from 1888 until his abdication in 1918. He was the eldest grandson of the British Queen Victoria, and was related to many of the monarchs and princes in Europe. Measuring approximately 33 inches high and 51 inches wide, the antlers display an impressive twenty points, with the skull decorated with a blue and red enamel accented officers helmet plate (attributed to the 19th Jaeger Battalion of Prussia), and marked "1892" in ink at the top. The hardwood plaque is contoured to follow the skull, with oak leaf, acorn and hardwood themed accents and an Austrian military merit medal with a triangular ribbon at the bottom.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, with some minor handling marks overall, as well as a fine aged color to the skull and an antique patina on the medal.
