Description:

Created by an unknown craftsman, the overall construction of the suit follows patterns and trends seen in 17th century Japanese armor, though on a much smaller scale and with lacquered plastic used as the chief material for the armor plates. Primary colors on the plates are gold and black, alternating in primary and accent, with a mixture of white and blue cords securing the pieces together. The kabuto (helmet) is equipped with a crescent accent on the front, two hanging neck protector panels, and a mempo style faceguard with hanging throat protector. The do (breastplate) is decorated with a paulownia mon, classically a symbol of the Imperial family and used today by the government of Japan, with open sleeves made from fine embroidered gold cloth with a set of ribbed forearm guards, and hanging upper arm and thigh guards. An apron of similar material to the sleeves is also included, as are a pair of guards for the shin and the front of the ankle. With a black lacquer finished cedar case.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, with some scuffing and chips on the plates and mild wear overall. The apron is fair, and very fragile, but the other cloth components are solid. A few dings are present on the case, along with some mild edge wear.
