Description:

Measuring 23 3/8 inches long, the blade features an 18 1/8 inch cutting edge, straight hamon, single fullers and a polished surface extending nearly a full inch below the edge. The fullers continue for the full length of the tang, with two mekugi-ana and untranslated signature markings on both sides. No translation is available, but the blade is consignor-attributed to the 14th century. With a rough-fitting habaki and a plain wood saya with untranslated markings on each side.

Rating Definition:

Fair, with a few light edge chips, scattered spotting, and fine grain. The tang has turned a dark, well-aged brown with an appropriate level of rust and spotting. The sheath is fine, with some scuffs and wear.
